Passport… check. Backpack…check… Journal and camera…check . And I am off!
Traveling is the quickest way to open your mind, expand your world, and to feel truly alive. To awaken all of your senses, sometimes all at once and sometimes one by one, savoring new sights, tastes and sounds as they reach you.
There is a distinct difference between a traveler and a tourist. A traveler wants to meet the local people, see and experience the way they live, eat the things they eat and attempt to speak their language. A tourist wants to pick up their safe and comfortable world and transport it with them. When things go wrong for a traveler they see possibility, adventure, the universe pushing them in a new direction. When things go wrong for a tourist they are ready to go home. I am a traveler, and I want to experience the world firsthand, get my hands (and feet!) dirty, make mistakes and get lost, find things nobody else knows are there.
So now its time for the universe to conspire to push me in a new direction! Exactly which direction that is I have yet to see but that is the beauty of this life we all live, there is no way to know what is around the corner. I would love the opportunity to explore the world and have new adventures and to share those with you. If my experiences can open minds a bit, expand worlds in a tiny way then I have accomplished something remarkable.
I am blessed to have seen as much of the world that I have, from Africa to Asia, South America to Europe. But it seems that with the more exploring I do, the longer my “must see” list gets. Rather than checking things off I come back from each trip with new things to add. Mostly from the amazing fellow travelers I meet along the way and the experiences they have to share. Sharing your favorite stories, places and events with each other inspires each of us to want to see more, want to live through the adventures that have shaped you into the unique and interesting person you are.
I would love the opportunity to share my experiences with all of you readers, and for us to experience more of this world together. Let’s embark upon the adventure of a lifetime together!
