Even when one can't afford to travel, there are ways to explore our beautiful world.
This year, stuck in a cooking rut, I put my love for learning, food and travel to work and started an exciting project - I'm cooking my way around the world (A-Z), one meal at a time.
To chronicle my journey, I started a blog called Global Table Adventure (http://www.GlobalTableAdventure.com) where I record my recipes, photos, and videos for each country. With a picky husband and baby girl on board, our Adventure is proving to be a wild ride.
I think that my Adventure would integrate perfectly with Blog Your Way Around the World. I'm already in the habit of blogging once or more a day and what better way to explore a country and its food than in person?
I've always loved to eat. My enjoyment of eating is a direct result of the cooking gene I inherited from my mother. Not only did she teach me to cook, she made sure I ate my vegetables. The habit stuck.
Outside of the “School of Mom” I furthered my culinary education in two ways. First, I wrote “The History of Artisan Bread Baking in France” to fulfill my Honors Thesis for Wesleyan University. Second, I spent a year refining my skills at the Culinary Institute of America. While there I was the editor of La Papillote, the student newspaper.
I was born on Cape Cod and lived in Boston until I was ten. Then I moved every few years. I acquired my passion for travel during the six years I lived abroad as a teen. With 12 countries under my belt, I’ve barely scratched the world’s surface. I’m hoping to make more of a dent, in a good way!
Today I live in Tulsa, Oklahoma with my husband, daughter (who was seven months old when we started this adventure and will have had food from every country in the world by the her fourth year!), and two brat cats.
We'd love to hit the road (baby Ava is free to travel for another year) and bring our Adventure to life with Blog Your Way Around the World.
It'd be an incredible story.
