I am travel-obsessed, energetic and fun loving 22-year-old. I’ve done more than my fair share of traveling but I still can’t wait for my next grand adventure. When that time comes I’ll want to tell you all about it.

I want to share with you the juicy details about the corners of the world that you haven’t had the chance to experience yourself: I can already tell you what the Panamanian rainforest sounds like at night or what sitting on an camel’s back feels like under the Egyptian sunrise or what it’s like to be followed through the streets of Rome by a creepy Italian man...but more on that one later.

In my opinion, there is no better time to travel than right after college graduation. I just completed my bachelors degree in Journalism from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst- which, for those of you who don’t know, means that I know how to write and I know how to have fun. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a responsible girl and I know that traveling with a hangover is no fun…but a really good blog should be peppered with some mischief.

The best part about traveling is the people you meet, and I know that all it takes is a friendly “hello” for the stories create themselves. Being a very outgoing young woman, I have met some true characters along my way. For example, there was Eugene, the emaciated-looking hippie from Tennessee wearing nothing more than shorts and an Indian headdress, happy as ever to be sitting at a purple picnic table by himself, listening to the live music surrounding him at the Bonnaroo Music Festival.

When I started my first journal at age ten I imagined it being published some day when I was long gone, (sort of like Anne Frank but less serious). Ever since then I have been living my life for the sole purpose of making my journals interesting enough for the public to read. Consequently, I have developed into quite a spontaneous creature, ready to bend the rules if it means I’ll have a better story to write about. So if by some miracle I actually win this amazing contest and my scribbles get published, you will be a part of the story for having voted for me!
