I’ve been writing since 1972. While my blog

is in infancy; it holds promise. My travel credentials are a great fit in any write, win, & wander candidate, but consideration & a willingness to admit mistakes are my distinguishing charactaristics. I strive not to repeat my mistakes.
I’m an artist, and photographer. I’ve rowed a bagggage raft for Hatch twice in the last 3 years; rowed 25+ years ago with Hatch-rival, AB.
My most serious work is Road Trek ‘77.
Somebody out there might love being outside more than I do.
I love the peaks, the rivers, the ocean, the desert; you name it. I’m okay with being alone but I love people too; I’m from a big family – eldest of 8 kids in 10 years – hard-working Poles one half and joie-de-vivre French-Canucks the other. Some Native blood too, which has had a disproportionate influence on me. While no longer in my best shape, my bet is I sprint faster, ski steeper than >99.5% of anybody, still. My parents are amazing people.
Among my heroes are Passaconaway, Buckminster Fuller, Wendell Berry, and David Brower. Jim Thorpe is better known.
Life contains a limitless number of stories; if I could just write a few down maybe that’d help raise human tolerance. I love travel because every day is new; our 4 kids camped in Yellowstone when they were 13, 11, 9, and 2.
My job is good, work is meaningful; but always-being-inside-walls is tough on me. While no opponent of the finer things in life I’ve been outside in many weathers. Drenched alongside Tahoma, bone-dry in Canyonlands, half-drowned on Westwater. Although I prefer otherwise I can tough it out.
My river guide leave-no-trace training may have gone overboard: some folks think I’m obsessive about recycling. If Africa dies then there goes the rest of the world. Our salvation lies in better education, and that’s where I hope to head from here.
I’d be unbelievably psyched to be your choice & am just praying that half of these hyperlinks work out. I hope I’m chosen to blog around the world so that we can keep moving ahead, together.
