Come on a serendipitous journey with me.
What is serendipity? The word is based on a fairy tale describing the travels of the Three Princes of Serendip. Horace Walpole described the Three Princes this way - “They were always making discoveries, by accident and sagacity, of things they were not in quest of”.
Come with me and we will share a glorious adventure. We will bicycle along the Danube, river raft in Idaho, and zip-line through the rainforest canopy of Costa Rica. We will swim with green turtles in the Galapagos, encounter Pygmy elephants and orangutans in Borneo, and get off the beaten path heli-hiking in the spectacular Canadian Rockies.
If you choose me to lead you on this journey, I will share the wonders, and the surprises, that I experience. I intend to take a different friend or family member on each trip, and share their experiences with you as well. Imagine a young boy’s thrill at seeing polar bears without the bars of a zoo cage. Imagine my joy at being able to fulfill my mother’s lifelong dream of taking an African safari.
This story will not be written as a classroom lecture, nor will I use it to further a political agenda. This story will be written with an open mind, and a joyful heart. Come on this journey with me - we will experience the world and visit Serendip along the way.
